The Forensic Association of the Carolinas was established to heighten awareness of  the value of forensic evidence. From a frantic 911 call to the courtroom, each level of response is a spoke on the wheel of the criminal justice process. Understanding the value of forensic evidence is crucial to maximizing the potential of its recognition, identification, collection, preservation, and presentation for everyone.  In light of the CSI: Effect, the integrity of forensic evidence is always forefront in the media. Through education within a team approach, we can work towards fortifying criminal cases while exuding a strong response to criminal acts in pursuit of safe and happy communities.

The FACs membership is diverse. It is comprised of dispatch, first responders, EMS, hospital/medical personnel, law enforcement, social workers, emergency management personnel, district attorneys & support staff, educators, and criminal justice students from around the world.  Working together is paramount to the successful prosecution of offenders where forensic evidence is present.

Auxiliary membership is extended to community leaders and public administrators as well. The value of forensic evidence cannot be understated. The allocation of resources especially at the city, county, and state levels are imperative to providing exemplary service to citizens.

Our Vision...

Our vision is global. The mechanisms of crime has experienced tremendous growth. While the crime of yester-year was concentrated in urban sprawl, today’s crimes extend to bedroom communities across America and beyond outer boundaries of the United States. Bridging inter-agency and international gaps from dispatch to the courtroom will build a stronger framework towards the successful prosecution of criminal cases.
